For Families, Couples or Maternity Portraits (1.5-2 hrs long)
In-home or a combination of indoor/outdoor, some subtle posing mixed with authentic, natural moments.
For maternity sessions, booking is recommended around 34-36 weeks pregnant so that you are showing well but not cutting it too close.
For families with kids of any age, I recommend we discuss planning your session around one or two activities to facilitate capturing moments of fun interaction between you.
Typically about 3 hours long, newborn sessions are photographed in the home within 2 weeks following the birth to ensure baby is captured at his or her tiniest. It is always recommended to book in advance as much as possible. You may also choose to capture your baby a little later on at around 4-6 months old for more engaged, lively photos that show personality. Breastfeeding images can be at any stage you wish.
I also offer a baby's first year package to include 4 sessions photographed over 14 months, that also includes 50 birth announcement postcards and an optional add-on storybook.
Documentary sessions are a 100% unposed story of your day-to-day. These sessions are a longer format in order to give me time to get to know you, and to ensure everyone is completely comfortable with my presence so that you become less aware of the camera. This makes for much more beautifully real images of your kids being themselves. Yes, sometimes this includes tears and tantrums, but I always take the bad with the good and encourage parents to do the same, knowing that their resulting storybooks will bring tears to their eyes. Documentary sessions are a day-in-the-life format, photographed over half a day or a full day and include a storybook of memories.
We'll select a location based on your interests and show off your personality with a beautiful portrait. During this 1-hour session there'll definitely be some great headshots captured for professional use, too.
Offered periodically throughout the year; these are 30-minute sessions that are great for professional headshots, outdoor maternity sessions, a photo shoot with a friend or a mini family shoot. If you'd like to be notified of when mini sessions are scheduled, please subscribe to the newsletter at the top of the page.
I hand pick a limited number of weddings per year. If you are planning your big day, let's have coffee and see if we're a good fit! To view some past weddings, check out my journal.
I am a strong believer of living interdependently with the natural world to maintain our quality of life and build community. That's why 5% of sales from all documentary family sessions will be donated to the David Suzuki Foundation, a Canadian charitable organization collaborating to conserve our environment and find solutions that will create a sustainable Canada through science-based research, education and policy work.
I have been lucky enough to grow up one block away from a beautiful waterfront. It has, over the years, served as a form of therapy for me, a quiet place to take reprieve from life's daily struggles. It is extremely important to me that we continue to protect our waterways and conserve the natural beauty of our country, and continue to teach our children about the importance of this.
Let's protect Canada's natural lands for our future generations.
