Sarah was expecting her first baby and got in touch with me well in advance of her due date (highly recommended!). She ended up being another case of someone I photographed who gave birth within a week after the shoot just the same though, I can't believe this keeps happening!
So I ventured out to do this maternity photography in NDG at her lovely home in the springtime. She had just recently moved in, which actually helped since the space was light and bright and perfect to photograph in.
One of my favourite things was how she'd arranged the blinds in her dining room window to create a graphic, whimsical look. I chose to frame her in this space for a number of shots since I was so drawn to it.
Like at every maternity shoot, I photographed a few little details of the preparations for baby's imminent arrival, such as the little toys in the nursery, and small details like the cards on the mantel from a recent baby shower.
We even had a chance to go outside since it was a gorgeous, warm and sunny day. It was on April 10th last year - fingers crossed we get a day this nice in the coming week where one could feel comfortable enough to go out in a sun dress!
It was truly a great pleasure to work with Sarah, she was relaxed and easygoing and I was so pleased to be invited back to photograph her baby girl 6 months later... to come in a future post!
